In addition, here are answers to some frequently asked questions about how I facilitate Reiki.
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. The word Reiki is made up of two Japanese words – Rei which means “God’s Wisdom or the Higher Power” and Ki which is “Universal Life Force Energy”. So Reiki is actually “spiritually guided life force energy.”
What happens in a session?
We’ll have a short discussion about your goals for the session. If we’re doing an in-person session, you will then be invited to recline on the massage table while fully clothed. The lights in the room will be dimmed and soft music may be playing. I then connect with the Reiki energy and my intuitive guidance to begin balancing your chakras and clearing blockages in service to assisting you in feeling more balanced body, mind and spirit. Reiki is a light hands-on touch therefore you will likely be aware of the parts of your body & energy field where I am working.
What does a Reiki treatment feel like?
Most people find Reiki treatments to feel profoundly relaxing. You may feel a warmth or tingling. You may feel sleepy during the session. Reiki treats the whole person including the physical body, the emotions, the mind and the spirit, creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing.
I have heard that Reiki can be sent to others at a distance. Is that true?
Most definitely!! I am able to “tap into” the person’s energy in much the same way as when I am doing an Intuitive Reading, and I can send them Reiki healing energy to wherever they are in the world!! They could be hundreds or even thousands of miles away, but it makes no difference. The Reiki energy will go to them and treat them.
During your remote Reiki session you will be encouraged to lay down in a quiet space while I work on your from afar. More details will provided prior to your session.
What about Reiki on Animals?
Animals LOVE Reiki!! Due to my own personal experience in working on animals to bring about greater healing through Reiki, this is my particular area of expertise. Whether it is your horse, your dog, your cat – or any other “four-legged friend” that is in need, I am able to connect with their energy in the same ways as I do with humans. By connecting with their energy, I am able to not only “hear” (or intuit) what they may be wishing to share with you, but I can also send them Reiki energy that assists in their healing process!!
